Most known for the famous Henderson Castle sitting atop the nieghborhood's highest point, West Main Hill features tree-lined streets, winding roads, and impressive architecture. Originally established in the late 1800s, most homes were erected between 1910 through the 1930s.

West Main Hill is part of Kalamazoo's Historic District, and is also listed by the National Register of Historic Places. Beyond Hendserson Castle, West Main Hill is known for its parks, the Mountain Home Cemetary, and its proximity to K College and short communite to Downtown Kalamazoo.
