Westwood

Westwood is a quiet residential neighborhood located on Kalamazoo's west side, known for its mature trees, spacious lots, and proximity to the West Main cooridor. 

Largely the biproduct of mass-produced automobiles, Westwood is the culmination of both a growing desire for suburban living and a lessening necessity to live near city centers. As such, Westwood is on the western outstkirts of Kalamazoo, and was developed later than many of its counterparts like Milwood and Edison, with most homes circa 1940s and later.

Westwood is home to many notable attractions, such as the coveted community park, Frays Park, the Grand Prairie Golf Course, and Kalamazoo Central High School, famously attended by National Baseball Hall of Fame member Derek Jeter, who grew up in Westwood himself.
